Reishi Mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum)
The Reishi Mushroom (pronounced "ree-shee") has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for millenia. It is
known by many as the "Mushroom of Immortality" because of its use to promote longevity, and in the treatment of many life-threatening diseases. More recent studies suggest that Reishi may have powerful components that build and maintain a healthy immune system. Reishi figures prominently in China's original Materia Medica as a superior herb and one that has no negative or toxic effects related to dosage or length of use. As a tonic Reishi can be taken daily as a tea or extract for basic health maintenance and in increased dosages during illness or disease recovery.* Available in dried form for teas or as alcohol-based extract.
Lion's Mane Mushroom (Hericium erinaceus)
The Lion's Mane, or Yamabushitake, has traditionally been revered for its mental-stimulating properties
as well as its ability to aid in the healing and recovery from many diseases and tumors. Studies being conducted around the world highlight the tumor-fighting, anti-cancer and immune-boosting properties of Lion's Mane, making it not only a gourmet food but a medicinal delight as well. Some studies being conducted focus on Lion's Mane's NGF (Neural Growth Factor) constituents which show positive effects on neuron regeneration in the brain, possibly aiding in the recovery and treatment of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.* Available as alcohol-based extract.
Shiitake (Lentinula edodes)
Shiitake (pronounced "shee-tah-kay") is one of the most well-documented medicinal
mushrooms used in Chinese Medicine and is traditionally used for conditions ranging from cancer to high cholesterol to impotence. Recent studies suggest that Shiitake may have therapeutic action against viruses such as HIV/AIDS and the herpes simplex virus.*
