Mushroom Growing Workshops

Grow mushrooms in your garden, landscaping or forested property!

Cascadia Mushrooms hosts mushroom growing workshops several times a year for the adventurous gardener who wants to incorporate a new kingdom in their cultivation plan, rapidly recycle nutrients in their property's ecosystem, and harness the backyard's waste materials.

Several easy to follow techniques are covered in our hands-on workshops, including:

Growing mushrooms on cut logs and stumps using plug spawn

Growing mushrooms in woodchip beds using pure spawn and how to generate
your own spawn

Easy ways to grow oyster mushrooms on pasteurized straw and other "waste" products

Also covered are basics of the mushroom lifecycle and lifestyles

We answer the questions:
How do they grow?
How do we encourage good mushrooms?

A brief introduction to the identification of mushrooms discussed is also provided.
